About... John Thompson, “J.T.”, Realtor/Broker/Owner
John Thompson, Real Estate Broker/Owner holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and has held his California real estate license since 1988. As a youngster, John helped his grandparents manage their apartment buildings in Pasadena and played The MONOPOLY Game with frequency. From this, John became highly interested in real estate at an early age. While working full time as a professional Engineer for leading wireless and aerospace companies over a period of twenty four years, John used his real estate license to purchase, invest and personally manage rental properties. After his successful run in the corporate world, John elected to put his business, operations, technology and problem solving experience to work, full-time, as the Managing Broker/Owner of Seabreeze Coastal Properties based in Encinitas, California where he works alongside Elena Thompson, his wife and business partner of twenty-nine years.
As a native Californian who grew up in Santa Barbara, California, John has resided in Leucadia for the past 29 years with Elena. When not working, John is an active community volunteer and co-founder of BikeWalkEncinitas.org whose mission is to improve bicycle and walking opportunities and safety in Encinitas. He and Elena enjoy biking, hiking, adventure travel and hosting foreign exchange students from abroad participating in the UCSD Education Abroad Program.
